2016 Dunlop Super2 Series Champion, Garry Jacobson will line up for this season’s campaign with MW Motorsport in Nissan Altima supported by bulk diesel supplier MEGA Limited.

The 25-year-old standout from last year’s PIRTEK Enduro Cup will move to the crack MWR squad for the Dunlop Super2 Series this year.

He will be aiming to back up his stellar 2016 season with another championship in what will be his seventh season in the Series.

Jacobson brings with him the continued support of MEGA Limited who joined his title battle last season. The Queensland-based Bulk Diesel supplier also begins its second year as a sponsor of Tickford Racing (formerly Prodrive) in the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship and last year supported Liam Talbot in the Australian GT Championship.

Jacobson is the final piece to be added to the MW Motorsport Nissan puzzle, with the team confirming that the vastly experienced Dean Fiore would come back for a full season campaign and young Perth star Alex Rullo would join the squad.

In addition to MEGA Limited, Garry Jacobson’s campaign will be supported by Exedy Racing Clutches, Palmtrans, McQuinn Electrical, Challenger Valves and Actuators, MGA Insurance Brokers and PPG.

The Dunlop Super2 Series begins on the streets of Adelaide from March 1-4.

QUOTEBOARD – GARRY JACOBSON:

“I’m very excited to be joining the MW Motorsport squad for this year and bringing MEGA Limited along for the journey,” said Jacobson.

“Matt White is well renowned for producing a very good racecar and it’s awesome that we can partner up with him this year.

“After driving another marque, the Nissan will be a great challenge – since entering the Dunlop Super2 Series with MW Motorsport, the team has produced some solid results, so we aim to build on that program in 2018.

“To have Dean and Alex in the team – both drivers with a lot of experience – will be a great yardstick and I’m confident the three of us will work brilliantly together.

“Nissan’s slogan is Innovation that Excites – we like to bring some excitement and MEGA is a very innovative company, so with all of that coming together, hopefully it will deliver a lot of success for us all.”

TERRY KNIGHT – MOTORSPORT MANAGER – MEGA LIMITED:

“MEGA is thrilled to be continuing with Garry in 2018 and to be teaming up with MW Motorsport is something we’re really excited for,” said Knight.

“Matt’s team is arguably the best in the Dunlop Super2 Series and he has proven over the years that he knows what it takes to run consistently at the front of the field and he’s really had the Nissan Altimas flying.

“Garry, for us, was a standout last year in the PIRTEK Enduro Cup and continually impressed us with how he carried himself through the season, including his Super2 race win at Phillip Island – which was exciting for MEGA as our first Supercars win in any format.

“Garry and his family have become a close part of what we do at MEGA and will be a part of our organisation moving forward.

“The MWM Nissan looks fantastic and with Garry’s talent and the experience of MW Motorsport, we’re hoping to see the MEGA colours  up the front of the Dunlop Super2 Series field.”
